When it comes to photography, I am an Attemptist. If I think it looks cool, chances are I will attempt it. Some times I win and some times I fail, but that just gives me a reason to try again.
I have found that in the world of light painting you must be able to think and see in what I refer to as the Invisible Dimension. You must be able to envision in your mind what a light trail is going to look like because you cannot see it in the air as you wave your light instrument around. Dimension and space take on a whole new meaning when you try to paint a picture with lights in the middle of a field or on a wall, especially if you try to add depth to a photo. Experimentation leads to success.
